History of the Parents’ Day
Parents' Day was approved as a national holiday by the United States Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton, on October 14, 1994. The establishment of Parents' Day was the result of a bipartisan, multiracial and interfaith coalition of religious, civic and elected leaders who recognized the need to promote responsible parenting in our society and to uplift ideal parental role models, especially for our nation's children.
Former President Bill Clinton also selected that on the fourth Sunday of July of each year, parents are to be honored. It is just like Father's Day or Mother's Day. Each year for the past 26 years California National Parents' Day association has been honoring a number of parents that have been recommended for their outstanding roles as parents. Selected parents are role models in many ways and have dedicated their lives to raising honorable children who have achieved much not only in school but also contribute to the community with honor.
It is our hope that by uplifting these award winning parents, we can encourage other parents to emulate their fine example. We wish to remind one another that the role of being responsible and loving parents will be the most important job any of us will ever have in our lives; for the strength of a nation is found in the strength of its families.
Invitation to the Nat’l Parents’ Day 2021
This year Southern California Parents Day Association will hold it's 2021 National Parents of The Year Award ceremony on Saturday July 24, 2021 . The ceremony will take place at Pasadena City Hall " Rotunda " 100 North Garfield Ave., Pasadena, CA ------ 9:30 AM- 11:00 AM followed with : complimentary luncheon, music and swimming party for youngsters.

A. First name and last name of husband and wife as to appear on certificates of National Parents Of The Year to be issued from the offices of State Senator Anthony Portantino and Assemblymember Chris Holden.

F. A short bio for both ( not more than half a page of normal writing paper )
