National Parents’ Day 2023
Parents of the Year Award Ceremony
History of the Parents’ Day
Parents' Day was approved as a national holiday by the United States Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton, on October 14, 1994. The establishment of Parents' Day was the result of a bipartisan, multiracial and interfaith coalition of religious, civic and elected leaders who recognized the need to promote responsible parenting in our society and to uplift ideal parental role models, especially for our nation's children.
Former President Bill Clinton also selected that on the fourth Sunday of July of each year, parents are to be honored. It is just like Father's Day or Mother's Day. Each year for the past 28 years California National Parents' Day Association has been honoring a number of parents that have been recommended for their outstanding roles as parents. Selected parents are role models in many ways and have dedicated their lives to raising honorable children who have achieved much not only in school but also contribute to the community with honor.
