Seonghwa Ceremony for Mrs. Susan Lee
April 9 at Han Kook Mortuary
Mrs. Susan Lee passed away on March 31 morning at 10:05 at the Alcott Rehabilitation Hospital. She was 81 years old.
Many of us fondly remember her at the church in KEA. LA Family Church, head of the Korean language school and at the UPF events. She was an Ambassador for Peace who brought many guests. After attending the seminars and conferences, many of them also became Ambassadors for Peace who actively promote world peace.
Sehonghwa Ceremony will be held with the following schedule:
Date & Time: Saturday, April 9 at 3:00 pm (Ceremony will be about one hour.)

Recommended Attire: Men- dark suit, white shirt, white tie / Women - White or light pastel-colored dress or suit / Children - Sunday best
Translation: The ceremony will be held in Korean language. There will be translation radio devices with very limited quantity. If you have an FM radio, you may bring it to listen to the translation.
There will be no burial.
Her family does not wish to receive Seonghwa contribution (donation). The family appreciates your devotion such as prayers for her.
Face covering (mask) is required.
Biogrpahy of Mrs. Susan Lee
Mrs. Susan Lee is beloved figure in the Southern California faith community, a friend to each person she met. She was born on April 17, 1941 in Seoul, Korea to her father Kim Deok-won and mother Kang Soon-ae. Her father was an independence fighter who campaigned for Korea's independence from Japan. Her mother (Mrs. Kang Soon-ae) established a church in the early days of the Korean Unification Church and played a major role in the Unification Church in Los Angeles, living and working from True Parents’ home in Pasadena.
In 1960, Susan entered Yonsei University in Korea. She participated in the 4.19 Student Movement and contributed to the democratization movement in Korea.
She came to America in 1971, and has consistently provided volunteer work in the Korean-American community in Los Angeles. Mrs. Lee served as the Secretary-General of the Korean Association of Southern California; the Director of the Association of Korean Women Entrepreneurs in Los Angeles; the President of the Association for the Bereaved of American Independence Merit; and a member of the Korean government's Peace and Unification Policy Advisory Committee.
Mrs. Lee also served as the team mother of her dream baseball class, and focused on the education of her second generation. She also opened the Sunhwa Korean Language school at the Los Angeles Family Church, where she worked hard to teach Korean, the mother tongue of our faith (1998~2008). As an Ambassador of Peace, she recruited peace ambassadors throughout Southern California and continued to promote church activities. During the Little Angels Consolation Performance for Korean War Veterans (2012), she worked as a preparatory member to promote the activities of True Parents.
She has a family of two sons (First Son Peter Lee, second son David Lee). She has also maintained a close relationship with her three brothers (Keon Young Kim, Ho Young Kim, Sam Young Kim).
Mrs. Lee ascended on March 31, 2022 at 10:05 AM at the Alcott Rehabilitation Hospital (Los Angeles) at the age of 81.
