Helping Children Understand Divine Principle

For a while I taught Sunday school at our local center in Hempstead, Long Island, NY.

I tried to think of some way that would simplify the Principle that would make it easy for even the littlest of the lot (8,or 9?) to understand the gist of it. I came up with this. The DP can be summarized with three basic points. Of course all of the three have many nuances but this is what I taught them.

The Divine Principle is Gods truth that has the answers to three basic questions.

  1. What was Gods ideal?
  2. What went wrong? (why are we not in the ideal)
  3. How do we fix it? (Restoration)

I think to this day, they still remember those three points. Even though most are in their 20s and 30s.
