Dear Brothers and Sisters — As you know, we are in the midst of a National 40-Day Condition to prepare for the 5th Anniversary of True Father's Seonghwa, which will take place on September 7. This year, the commemorative events will include the Seonghwa Anniversary Celebration, the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony officiated by True Parents, the HyoJeong Culture Festival and the International Leaders Assembly. 

Tropical Storm Harvey has flooded large swaths of southeastern Texas, destroyed thousands of homes and businesses, and left over 300,000 people–including members of the Unificationist community–without power and with a lack of resources. Even after the hurricane has been downgraded to a tropical storm, heavy rainfall is expected to persist, furthering the damages that have been inflicted.

Did you know a Hoondok circle is being held in the cafeteria of PCC (Pasadena City College) and other college campuses in the Orange County area on almost every school day? It was started by some Kodan mothers and is now expanding to their college-age children and their friends! LA Family Church, every Wednesday night from 7:00–9:30 pm in the Upper Room. Join us as First and Second Gen members meet for singing and prayer, in order to deepen our relationship with God in both spirit and truth. We will examine the present day culture wars raging in America, and how the impact of prayer indeed changes things. On a sunny Saturday morning in late July, more than 100 people were gathered at Pasadena City Hall to attend a major event for Parents' Day 2017. Among those assembled were more than 25 sets of parents who were about to be honored as "Parents of the Year". Children, grandchildren and their friends came for this very special occasion, to celebrate these model parents from their communities. The couples who were awarded included Keith & Katrin McCarthy, Rick & Mayumi Joswick, Rev. Mark Tengan and Rev. & Mrs. Young Tack Yang. Congratulations to all the 2017 Parents of the Year!
