400 Uhuru Rising
This February 22nd, you will have a special opportunity to join Women's Federation for World Peace to witness our historic "Bridge of Peace" in a special performance.
“Uhuru” means “freedom” in Swahili and the new stage production "400 Uhuru Rising, A Musical Journey to Freedom" takes audiences on the African Americans’ 400-year freedom journey. Musical presentations include: Negro Spirituals during the time of slavery, Gospel music during the Civil Rights Movement, and contemporary Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop and Spoken Word accompanied by illuminating historical narratives.
A special presentation by the African Union Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao concludes this historic event.
