Unlike most US cities, Los Angeles offers year round opportunities to experience the ocean environment including activities such as sailing, fishing, whale watching and camping at Catalina Island.  Dan Hallal and Jack Ashworth are experienced Captains who have boats in Marina Del Rey and make them available to our church families and friends throughout the year. Our ministry’s goal is to inspire others to catch the passion and love for the sea that our Founder shared with us throughout his life.

The new Western Region of Family Federation for Heavenly USA covers states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii and Nevada (except the city of Las Vegas).

As True Mother returns to Korea, she will hold a Special Banquet to Celebrate True Parents' Victorious Return from Africa Summit 2018. This celebration with True Parents will take place on Wednesday, January 24, at 10:30 a.m. in Korea, which is Tuesday, January 23, at 5:30 p.m. Los Angeles time.

On Saturday, January 27, from 9 am to 5 pm, we will be holding a 1-Day Level 2 Blessing Workshop at Pasadena House. The curriculum offered is a part of the Blessing Education series called “Finding My Path to the Blessing”. This multi-session educational program is specifically designed for and open to Unificationist young adults, and different sessions will be offered periodically either in workshop or small group format.

On December 21, 2017, True Mother held a special gathering where she strongly requested that the providential eldest son nation of the United States should not limit itself to believing in Heavenly Parent but should substantially attend Heavenly Parent and become the Heavenly United States (神美國).

On the evening of Saturday, November, 4, the Los Angeles Family Church held its ninth annual Seonghwa Memorial Festival to honor local family members and friends who have ascended into the spirit world. 40 people came together to carry on the tradition and share well wishes for their loved ones.

On December 12, the Election Committee comprised of Sheri Rueter, Keith McCarthy and Carol Takhar with Rev. Young Tack Yang and Katrin McCarthy as observers tallied the votes for the 2018 new council members.  New council members starting January 1st 2018;  names are by order of most votes: Jennifer Pierce, Curtis Martin, Kazue Short, Magda Ozono. 

The 2018 Pyeongae Scholarship awards between $2,000 and $5,000 to North American Unificationist students. The purpose of the grant is to encourage young people to pursue a public lifestyle while in higher education. We invite you to apply if you have at least: one year experience serving your community, are living a public lifestyle for the sake of others, are enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university, are connected with CARP, youth or young adult ministry, or are an affiliated organization or local ministry.

The Hyojeong Cultural Center and the Department of Culture and Public Relations for True
Mother’s Secretariat will be host True Parents’ 2018 Hyojeong Culture and Arts Youth Camp to
commemorate True Parents’ Birthday and the 5th Anniversary of Foundation Day. This youth camp will focus on education centered on “arts and the culture of heart” as well as rehearsing for the musical “Dream of Hyojeong 2.”

A lot is happening at the International Peace and Education Center (IPEC) to close 2017 and to start the new year! Check out the available workshops suited for young adults who are new to the Divine Principle, young adults with a Unificationist upbringing, as well as Japanese-speakers!

The Hyo Jeong World Peace Foundation (formerly the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation) has started its recruiting for the HJ Peace Academy (previously the Wonmo Pyeongae Global Scholarship) program in Sun Moon University in Korea for the Spring semester of 2018. This is one of True Mother's special initiatives to support Unificationist youth in their educational course. Interested and qualified youth are invited to pursue their college education in Korea and study the language and culture of our True Parents in their homeland.

We are inviting all Los Angeles Family Church members to join our 300-voice choir for the "Revival Starts With Me" Rally on December 16th! The choir will be directed by renowned gospel choir conductor Jason McGee of the City of Refuge Church.
