Happy Holy Days! Since the first day of the Heavenly Calendar (same as lunar calendar), we entered the festive Holy Days Season - Feb. 16 (1.1): 51st Heavenly Parent's Day, Feb. 21 (1.6): True Parents' Birthday, Feb. 28 (1.13) 5th Anniversary of Foundation Day.

All Holy Days were honored and celebrated with the Los Angeles Family Church community on Sunday, February 18.

On February 21, 2018, we celebrate True Parents' birthday, a day when we express our love and gratitude to our Heavenly Parent and True Parents. Individuals and families are invited to join in the local celebrations as we honor these special Holy Days, and are encouraged to offer the Holy Day donation through their local church or via the form below.

January 19, 2018 – Goree Island, Senegal

"Heavenly Parent! How many long years have passed as you worked hard and took a sorrowful course to find your sons and daughters? We know of the history that has pained Heaven many times because of humankind’s ignorance. Heavenly Parent! Nevertheless, you never gave up on us.

The Los Angeles chapter of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) organized a prayer breakfast on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Word of Encouragement Community Church. Dr. Cecil “Chip” Murray delivered the keynote address, entitled “Broaden Your Vision, Heighten Your Dreams.” For 27 years, Dr. Murray pastored the First African Methodist Episcopal Church (FAME) of Los Angeles.

On January 27, the LA Blessing & Family Ministry hosted a Level 2 Blessing Workshop at the Pasadena House. 42 participated, of which 39 were young Blessed Children and three were first-generation Unificationists. The average age of the participants was 23. Our community has had a number of requests for a Level 2 in the past, but could not gather enough participants to host one.

We are honored to announce that the Inauguration Ceremony for Rev. Larry Krishnek, the new Sub-regional Director of the Western Region at Los Angeles Family Church! The new Western Region of Family Federation for Heavenly USA covers states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii and Nevada (except the city of Las Vegas).

UTS is now offering online seminary courses presented by Unification faculty on various religious subjects that were previously only available on site. Two for-credit classes will be offered beginning on March 12, which include “World Scripture and World Peace” taught by Dr. Andrew Wilson and “Life and Thought of Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han” taught by Dr. Tyler Hendricks. The seminary is offering a $1,000 scholarship for each class, bringing the total cost for the student down to $500 per course plus a one-time registration fee.

The Holy Scriptures is a set of three volumes of True Parents' messages—the Cheon Seong Gyeong, the Pyeong Hwa Gyeong and the Cham Bumo Gyeong—the Cham Bumo Gyeong being the latest volume. Our NEW MINI-BOOK SET is exactly the same as the original (except for the size). People have asked whether they are readable, and our unscientific test says YES, the font is still a great size and highly readable. 

Unlike most US cities, Los Angeles offers year round opportunities to experience the ocean environment including activities such as sailing, fishing, whale watching and camping at Catalina Island.  Dan Hallal and Jack Ashworth are experienced Captains who have boats in Marina Del Rey and make them available to our church families and friends throughout the year. Our ministry’s goal is to inspire others to catch the passion and love for the sea that our Founder shared with us throughout his life.

As True Mother returns to Korea, she will hold a Special Banquet to Celebrate True Parents' Victorious Return from Africa Summit 2018. This celebration with True Parents will take place on Wednesday, January 24, at 10:30 a.m. in Korea, which is Tuesday, January 23, at 5:30 p.m. Los Angeles time.

On Saturday, January 27, from 9 am to 5 pm, we will be holding a 1-Day Level 2 Blessing Workshop at Pasadena House. The curriculum offered is a part of the Blessing Education series called “Finding My Path to the Blessing”. This multi-session educational program is specifically designed for and open to Unificationist young adults, and different sessions will be offered periodically either in workshop or small group format.

On December 21, 2017, True Mother held a special gathering where she strongly requested that the providential eldest son nation of the United States should not limit itself to believing in Heavenly Parent but should substantially attend Heavenly Parent and become the Heavenly United States (神美國).
