On a sunny Saturday morning as early as 6:30 am, 8 serious fishers from age 9 to 50+ gathered at the dock of Marina Del Rey. The wind was calm and seemed to have smooth boat ride. But as soon as the boat left the bay into the open water, the wave kept rocking the boat and made fishing people hard to keep standing while fishing.

On a sunny day in Southern California in still mid-summer-like weather, the community of Los Angeles Family Church celebrated two newly Blessed Couples at the Pasadena House. About 70 people gathered to attend the live broadcast of 6th Anniversary of True Father's Seonghwa and Hyojeong Cosmic Blessing Ceremony. We had two couples to participate in the Blessing Ceremony, both grooms are local. Brides came from Japan and Nicaragua.

Once again, Captain Jack Ashworth and Captain Dan Hallal invited surfers from around the country to join in a 3-day Surfin’ Safari from August 13 to 15 in sunny Southern California. Meeting at the Doheny State Beach, 15 fearless young surfers spent the first day braving the rocks and the pounding waves, all paddled out to meet the challenging ocean.

True Mother’s visit to Senegal in January 2018 was a moment of powerful providential significance. Her deep heartfelt prayer at the former slave house in Goree Island opened the doors for liberation of millions of people who had previously been locked under layers of resentment and pain.

As you know, we have just completed a ground breaking Divine Principle workshop at IPEC in Las Vegas and are now in the midst of a Cheongpyeong USA tour to liberate and Bless our ancestors. In addition, in a few short weeks, we will commemorate the 6th Anniversary of True Father’s Seonghwa, which will take place on Monday, August 27, in Korea, at the same time with the Hyojeong Cosmic Blessing.

BCSF (Blessed Culture and Sports Festival) 2018 was held at the UTS from August 8 to 12. This year, our local young athletes formed California Soccer Team for the second year. In spite of the rainy weather when players need to run through the rain on muddy field, they kept strong sportsmanship and shone through the tournament. California Soccer Team won the second place!

This year again we celebrated National Parents Day at Pasadena City Hall on Saturday, July 28th, 2018. We had 29 nominated couples and with some of the family members in attendance we had about 120 - 150 people participating, including church members. This was bigger than last year with a lot of distinguished couples. For example Dr. and Mrs. Jacobs were close students of Dr. Martin Luther King and participated in the civil rights movement.

Mrs. Bo Hee Lee (72 Blessing couple), mother of Rev. Young Tack Yang, District Pastor of District 12 and  Senior Pastor of Los Angeles Family Church, has passed away on July 26 in Korea at age 77. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Jun Su Yang and their 5 children (4 boys and 1 girl; Rev. Yang is the eldest son), and grandchildren. Rev. Yang traveled to Korea and will return on August 4. We sincerely send our condolences to the Yang family.

On Sunday, July 29, approximately ___ people attended a Los Angeles-area event celebrating marriage and the family which culminated in a Marriage Blessing Ceremony of ___ couples. The program was hosted by the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) of Los Angeles in the Old World Village Festival Hall, an outdoor shopping center located in Huntington Beach, California.

Greetings from New York! We’ve just completed a very successful special event with the Hyojeong Cheongpyeong team in Belvedere this past weekend. The spirits were high and everyone who attended had a profound and uplifting experience.

Calling all young adult professionals under the age of 35 in the Unificationist community! Are you free August 31st to September 2nd, 2018? You are invited to a weekend retreat! The retreat model originated on the East Coast as COR, or Connecting Our Roots, which is an independent, self-funded organization that puts on these retreats every year.

Sunday School classes are closed during the months of July and August. Classes will start again on September 9th. Families are encouraged to sit together during the Sunday Service since there is no supervision offered during the summer months. The safety of your children is the utmost importance.

From July 18-25, 2018, a very special Divine Principle seminar at IPEC will take place: the Hyo Jeong Divine Principle Conference.

Registration is extended until the number hits 300. (As of July 5, it is 285.)

We are happy to announce that registration for BCSF is now open! The festival will be from Aug 8th - Aug 12th and will likely be the last year the festival is hosted on UTS grounds. If you are interested in captaining please fill out a "Local Registration Form" so I know what you are interested in (Main Sports: Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, and Frisbee). There is also a possibility of a Fortnite tournament, if you interested please let us know so we can make the proper arrangements!

You are invited to join the National Prayer Call on Wednesdays @6pm (Los Angeles time)! During the 40-day period of devotion  which started on May 24 until July 2, all members are encouraged to have daily prayer and hoondokhae. Joining the Weekly National Prayer Call is a refreshing experience of the spirit during the week by listening the updated report and pray with all brothers and sisters on the call!

The registration for the Global Top Gun Youth workshop in summer 2018 is still open, and the new and final deadline is JULY 11!
